The Viking is the revision of a Helle classic that was originally produced as part of a fundraiser for a round-the-world expedition in a Viking ship. The handle is barrel-shaped, but tapered to give the knife a clear grip even if it is not shaped. It offers beauty in its simplicity and has become a modern classic, even though the design is over 1000 years old. The knife works really well with hands of all sizes, but should only be used by those of you who are more experienced. No finger protection here, so think before use. The knife is equipped with a rather thick blade, made of laminated carbon steel. Black down to its finish, directly from the heat treatment. Its narrow tang goes all the way down to the handle and is fixed in the old fashioned way with a diamond shaped washer. Viking comes with a traditional leather sheath stitched to the back to hang in its leather loop on the belt. This knife will rust if not maintained.
